This upgrade gives you the extra reach and control you need when opening failed multipoint locks on composite doors, especially when standard access isn’t possible. Use this system on doors where the wall reveal sits less than 30 mm from the door edge. In tight reveals like these, conventional tooling can’t get into position. This upgrade lets you operate safely, accurately, and without unnecessary damage.
How it works
Spread the door using the components from the Basic Kit. Once you create your working gap, insert the left- or right-hand Door and Frame Protector, choosing the protector that matches the door's handing. Position it directly over the failed hook or bolt so it shields the frame and guides your cut.
Next, load the correct-handed saw blade into your compact reciprocating saw. The blade aligns with the protector, allowing you to cut or release the hook with control and minimal impact.
This system must run on a 12-volt compact reciprocating saw with a 12–16 mm stroke. Anything longer, like the 30 mm stroke found on standard recip saws, will over-travel, strike the frame, and simply won’t work with this method.
The kit includes:
Left Hand Door and Frame Protector.
Right Hand Door and Frame Protector.
Left Hand Offset Blade specifically to fit in the Door and Frame Protector.
Right Hand Offset Blade specifically to fit in the Door and Frame Protector.
Left Hand “Zero” reveal Blade.
Right Hand “Zero” reveal Blade.
M4 Short Arm Allen Key.
N.B. All of the items fit inside the CDIS Basic Kit Case.
