Door Dimensions

ASSA door furniture sets come standard for 44/45mm thick doors. However, you can easily adapt other components for different door thicknesses.

Cylinder Ring Size (Modular Locks):

• The face of the cylinder will be 40.25mm from the centreline of the door (34.75mm for 5-pin cylinders). Then subtract half the door thickness (A) from this measurement to identify the correct cylinder ring size.
• For security reasons, make sure Scandinavian Oval cylinders don't project more than 2mm from the face of the cylinder ring. This is less crucial for Scandinavian round cylinders because of their cover sleeve.

Example: When fitting a 6-pin or ASSA Twin cylinder to 44mm thick doors (A=22mm), use an 18mm cylinder ring. (40.25mm - 22mm = 18.25mm).

Handle Size (Using ASSA Lever Handles):

• For lever handles, ensure the spindle length matches the door thickness, plus at least 50mm.
• If you're using split spindles, make the length half the door thickness plus a minimum of 10mm.
• Use screws that are the door thickness plus about 10mm for a secure fit.

Accessory Sets

Standard accessory sets for Scandinavian Oval cylinders used with Modular locks come in four sizes, specifically designed for fitting on standard 44mm or 45mm doors. For security reasons, ensure that the cylinder does not protrude more than 2mm from the face of the cylinder ring.

If you need to fit a cylinder to a door with an unusual thickness, we offer a variety of screws and cylinder rings to accommodate those requirements. Additionally, you can also request extension pieces that move the cylinder further out from the centerline of the door for a better fit.
